Here's Sam's LEGO version of a map of South America. He used a different color for each country, and added minifig heads to show the capital cities of each country.

Here are some cool photos of a LEGO house, submitted by Cody. We especially like the red sports car in the garage, the arched doorways upstairs, and the garage door that opens and closes (controlled by a worm gear). Very cool, Cody!

Our theme for this week's LEGO Club was "LEGO Endor" from Star Wars. A couple of the kids weren't familiar with Star Wars, so they built their own projects instead. Here are our cool creations!

The Observatory
Discovering new things about the space around us to help us discover new ways to help the Earth around us.

The way it helps the Earth is having lots of trees and plants to take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen for us to breathe.

Kids love Disneyland. That's why I made Disneyland, because it helps kids know that Disneyland is fun!

Kelly's Home and Horse Barn

The Home and the Horse Barn
It has a horse barn and a pony and a whole family and a home. One of them is grooming her horse, one of them is watering the flowers, and two of them are eating food. The one who is grooming her horse is Padme from LEGO Star Wars. The girl who is eating food is Marion from LEGO Indiana Jones. The two other guys are also from LEGO Star Wars. The guy in front of the house is their grandfather named "Eric". He is from LEGO Indiana Jones, too.

LEGO Club Creations from April 15th

Our theme for today's LEGO Club was "My Own Creation" or MOC. We decided to make group projects. They were truly inspired (and very cool)! Here they are:

The LEGO house
"I love it. It has a bed for the girl and the boy. And the puppy is only allowed inside the house."


Suburban meadow with waterfall
There's a waterfall that falls down into a river with an island in the middle of it, and goes out to the sea over the edge of the board. There are two houses, some telephone poles, some citizens of the meadow, and a marshmallow tree in the middle.

The left side is the front of the house with a tree house in the front yard. The right side is the backyard, a garden with carrots, a bridge over a river of lava, and the garage at the back. There's also a chimney on the house with smoke coming out of it.

Star Wars 2: Assassin Attack (MOC)

From my son:

This is one of my own creations. I got the idea from Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones. It's the part where they're in Coruscant and are attacking an assassin. It's showing Anakin climbing onto the assassin's ship and Obi Wan Kenobi pulling down to catch him later. In the picture, it looks like the assassin's ship got hit a few times, too.

Pokemon Games

From my son:

"I've added another LEGO Pokemon. His name is Piplup. He's a baby penguin. In the pictures, he's standing with his friends and playing games with them. Yes, it may look like one picture doesn't have them playing Pokemon games, but actually they are. The game is called "Who can stay still the longest". Right now, Pikachu is winning.



The other game is called "Minotaurus" which is available on the LEGO.com Website. In that game, Absol is winning.



I'm going to make a video review of Minotaurus later."

"As I said from my last review, I put another LEGO Pokemon up on my blog. His name is Turtwig and in this photo he's really hungry. He's eating some LEGO grass, and did you know that the leaves on his head grow better as soon as he eats?"

At LEGO Club, we also played the new game, LEGO Pirate Code. Here is my son's review of this game:

"I rate it 4 out of 5 stars, because the pieces around the edge kept falling off.

Unfortunately, the other kids didn't understand how to play at first, and when they finally figured it out, it was time to go home!"

Our next LEGO Club is tomorrow, Thursday, March 18th, from 3-4 PM at our house.

The theme for LEGO Club this week is the new LEGO Games. We bought our first LEGO game called "Pirate Code." We'll be playing this game, as well as designing our own version of a LEGO game. There will be prizes for everyone who designs their own LEGO game.

WHAT'S NEW
I found out about a new kind of LEGO called LEGO Games. So far, there are 5 games of their planned 10 on their Web site. My favorite one is the Pirate Code game because first, it has lots of LEGO blocks to build, and second, it happens to look like it has a great idea of a game.

Plus, there's another kind of LEGO toy called Prince of Persia coming in April 2010. I'll talk about it tomorrow."
